I guess my unconditional love just wasn't enough

Is she really nicer than me?

Is she more beautiful than me?
Because I know this for a fact,
She'll never be able to love you
More than me.

I thought about you everyday,
Wondered if you were okay
I considered it a good sign when you started smiling again
But I guess my unconditional love just wasn't enough!

Is she really nicer than me?

Because I know this for a fact,

A Perfect MomentShe whispers "Stay strong"
And for one perfect moment
I forget she's dead

Repulsion lurks in your eyes

Resonating within you
Makes your skin crawl

VoiceWhy am I silent?

It's all so complicated,
And I won't live a lie today.

Why am I hiding?
There is too much noise,
There are too many people,
Masquerade is not a joy.

Why am I crying?
Have you not seen the pain?
Betrayal, backstabbing, bitterness--
Compassion is starting to wane.

What has the world turned to?
Why do we fight, to bleed?
I'm sorry, I just don't understand
Why we are so blinded by greed.

Where has innocence gone?
Families suffering and breaking,
I'm sorry, I just don't understand
Why our lives are trembling and shaking.

We've lost sight of what's important,
We're stumbling into danger b

True Love Abusive love leaves scars,
but true love will heal them.

InkInk bleeds from my wounds
My razor my pen
I write these words
From which dead trees swaying in the wind
And rotting flower pedals that float in the breeze flow from

Smile Like You Know MeI'm going to visit you today. You'll look at me with the same expression that you have for the past eight months; there is no recognition. Every day, you introduce yourself to me and thank me for the flowers. You're always so damned polite.

I know you can't help it. I know you don't realize the difference. But it hurts, you know? It hurts to have known someone for a lifetime and yet be treated like a stranger every single day. I don't know how much longer I can hear you ask me my name and if I'd care for a cup of coffee.

You know my name. I hate coffee.

My heart breaks every time I drive home knowing I'll have to do this again tomorrow. So

Fearful DreamsI was burned

By hallow hopes
Washed away by
Icey tears
But brought back
By fearful dreams

DreamsSomething that should be as
cherished as a valuable diamond
a diamond that glistens
with the unique spark
that makes it your dream
and your dream alone

to achieve the dream
you must meet it halfway
to get what you
desire most in life

it is something that
you hold close to your
heart and never let
anyone soil it
it is what makes
life livable

and remember one thing,
it is near impossible to break a diamond

Running away from reality

You look me in the eyes
And with complete confidence
Tell me that you understand.

Know what I've been through,
Know how I feel,
Somehow these words only cause pain.

The butterflies from long ago
Have awoken, deep inside,
Only this time in a new form.

Along with clouds of fear,
And drops of anxiety,
stronger as the heartbeats get faster,
for it is the beginning of a storm.

Should I trust a stranger
That knows me so well
And jump into the water,

Even though I can drown
In a lake of confusion
Where my mind will eventually shatter,

Or should I run away, And wait for the one
That will wake the butterflies once again,
This time

Crazy Thing Called FeelingsSometimes I just feel like crying, when I have no one to confide in.

Sometimes I wish I could break free, free of these wretched shackles that bind me to reality.

Sometimes I just want to be loved, like that perfect scene from a romance movie.

Sometimes I just want to talk to you, but now it seems you're pulling away from me.

Now, I have no more tears to cry. My wrists are aching. My heart cannot love anymore. And now you're gone forever.

NightmareDarkness approaches
Nighttime goes in
Creatures are hidden
Silence within

Darkness approaches
Nighttime goes in
Bad monsters appear
How can you win?

Try to run and try to hide
Try to fight and try to die
It doesn't matter in the end
'Cuz I'll wake up and have pie

Stop Fixing the ExceptionI'm not a runaway
You can't tranquilize my spirit
Construct a mob to scare me off
Load me into a van
With bars and padded walls
And call it good

I'm not a child
Band-aid over the problem
Whine to get my way
Trouble maker
But I still have that sixth sense
To know when you're lying

I'm not a check list of symptoms
A certain dose of human
The pills, the creams, the gels
Of your science project

I'm not always a story
A long explanation
Drenched in symbolism
Sometimes I'm just one word
Two words
Three words, then nothing

I'm somebody
"If it's not okay, it's not the end"
And the end?
Is never dead

Forsaken MeForsaken Me

Night by night, I lie awake wishing for soothing rain,
With loss of hope and faith I ask to ease this lonely pain.
With feeling lost and full of doubt, struggling through this frozen time,
And this stench of lies between the worldly grime,
Now follows behind me forevermore.
I hear the ghost of mine alone calling throughout the night,
With darkness within his voice, tormented with delight.

"Forsaken me" must he said.
And I, afraid of what now to come.
"Forsaken me" the voice grows strong.
And I, longing for what now to come.

But thus this be but a dream or thus this be but a life without a dream?

Dream

I dream of her, and then I sever;
I dream of her now and forever.
Wrung ye not of dreams be seen,
Joyous past of hope between.

Misery held but a fiend, but a fiend;
Vision of her but a dream, but a dream.
But do I see her now or never;
Dream of her now and forever.

Dark despair around benights me;
Dreams of her, bestowed upon me.
Ne'er the day nor twilight fall;
One poise adjourned for all-
A dream to come tomorrow's pass,
Each heavier than the last.

I dream of her, and then I sever;
I dream of her now and forever.

Alas! Misery held but a fiend, but a fiend;

I enjoyed the Poesque nature of the content, very dark and gloomy...reminds me a bit of Lord Byron as well. I'm not an avid reader of Bobby Burns but I have read a few of his works. I think you capture the emotion well here.
